When the baby goes down for his second nap I start crying again.
It is too soon for silver linings, but all over this country there are people making pacts with each other, saying "I will watch out for you, I will be here for you." My friend Kelley calls them covenants. No matter what happens, we are in this together. I clasped hands with other bleary-eyes mothers at school today, none of us slept due to worry and anxiety. I hope you are close to those who are worried and afraid, those who have the most to lose. I will be there for them, as best as I am able, God help me. I don't know what else to say right now, except:
Jesus, my morningstar, my refugee king, my kind and good brother:
please light our path.
